I remember when the bridges were open, and frequently drove across them between Guilderland Center and US Route 20 – the Great Western Turnpike. Here’s a link to the area’s history.

Yes, this is where the dam is on the Normanskill, that created the Waterviliet Reservoir, at the junction of US 20 and NY 158.
